Health and Wellness & Maternal Education in the USA & India

At the H.E.L.P. Charitable Foundation, we are committed to bridging the knowledge gap between the providers and first responders in rural areas, as these areas have limited health resources. We work towards improving access to obstetric services for the poor in remote areas of the world using phones. We hope to follow the successful model, where smart phone was used to disseminate the preventive measures during the Ebola virus epidemic.

Health and Wellness Education

The health and wellness education program will benefit users by encouraging them to be proactive about matters related to their health. The program will help mitigate or prevent any major health issues.

Maternal Education

The Foundation focuses on educating mothers about the warning signs of pregnancy that may lead into serious complications. Since these complications can be sudden and unpredictable, the only way to prevent such complications is to educate the mothers to be watchful of their symptoms which may be subtle until it becomes serious.

Is Childbirth A Rebirth for Women?

One cannot but marvel the fact that in spite of all the sudden and unexpected complications that can happen, millions of children are born every day around the world without any incident. However, the sad truth is that one woman dies every ninety seconds during pregnancy or childbirth, and more than ten million women a year suffer severe and long-lasting disabilities caused by complications of pregnancy or childbirth.

The Role of an Experienced Obstetrician

The role that an obstetric provider plays in saving mothers' life is self-evident when we compare the maternal mortality of the developed nations where good obstetric care is the norm. Whereas in the case of underdeveloped countries, expecting mothers have to travel long distances to a health facility or they may deliver at home without help or deliver with the help of a low-level provider. Hence the Foundation is committed to educating the low-level providers so that they can convince the patients to deliver in the hospitals.
